Be Far More Productive with A Faster Windows XP
A slow PC should be history. In this day of innovations and technology, utilizing a slow PC will give you the idea of living through ancient times. It is for this reason that we always search for ways to speed up their personal computers.
If you are on the same road, then you just came to correct place. Yes, there is a lot of tweaking and modifying involved in speeding up a PC. But hey, these effortless sacrifices are always worth it.
Here is some of the tweaking I did to speed up my Windows:
> Its irritating to wait for menu delays. Cut down the time to load menu transitions through right clicking your desktop. Select Properties and Select the Effects tab. Unchoose the Animate windows menu lists. For those who use Windows XP, this can be done by right-clicking on the desktop, clicking Properties, clicking the Appearance tab, choosing the Effects option and uncheck Use the following transition effects for menus and tooltips, then Select OK.
> Speed up Windows Start Up by cleaning out the programs you dont use at start-up. For those who use Windows 98, this could be done through going to Start and clicking Run. Type in MSConfig.exe and hit OK button select the Start up tab then deselect the softwares you wish to disablethroughout the startup. You see, you can only speed start up Windows if you lessen the softwares that PC needs to wake up.
> Defragment also helps to speed up your PC. Look for the defragement option on the System Tools. Make sure that you dedicate a time for defragging. Operating various applications while on defrag limits the process itself.
> Choosing to install your applications would be best if you usually encounter script and other minor errors. Always scan your PC for viruses before backing up any files. In addition, make sure that you have a back up copy of your harware drives before erasing files from your hard drvies Installing again your software could run for as long as an hour or more.
> Removing programs that you do not use. Software, even if you are making use of them or not, take up space in your hard disk. If you arent making use of them, then remove them.
